About Stephen

Stephen M. Cheifetz is one of Windsor's most experienced and respected corporate, commercial, and tax lawyers. Called to the Ontario Bar in 1981, Stephen has spent over four decades providing sophisticated legal counsel to businesses of every size — from early-stage startups and seed-round ventures to established multinational enterprises. His clients range from local entrepreneurs incorporating their first business to large U.S. and European companies operating in Canada, and he has guided many of them through every stage of their growth.

Stephen's practice spans corporate and commercial law, tax planning and structuring, banking and finance, and cross-border transactions. His deep expertise in international business law has been widely recognized — the Government of Ontario has retained him to present seminars across the United States on doing business in Canada, and he has lectured for the U.S. Small Business Administration on the Canada–U.S. Free Trade Agreement. He has also served as a lecturer in business law at the University of Windsor and sits on the Board of Directors of a number of U.S. and European companies with Canadian operations.
